These are mostly thanks to Oenglish on CBR who directed me to a great listing of older Marvel collections. The rest were from Amazon Recommendations after putting in that information. That strange picture is from the 1997 Marvel Superheroes Cookbook.

I’ll be focusing on reviews tonight after I send out the giveaway winners. I moved the recent two to backdate, intending to force me to keep posting at whatever pace necessary to catch up.

Oh, I created a slightly off topic / twitter style update thread on the forum – The Captain’s Log. I’ll post my more disjointed thoughts and progress there.

Nice find on that list! I was working on mine this morning and I know I don’t have some of these. I thought I was just tying up loose ends at this point, but I’ll have to go through each of these to see what’s what!

you mean you already got dates and placements for all of the other ones? wow! I’ve only got about 850 placed? Something like that?

Marc replied on January 11th, 2011 at 12:45 am:

Oh yeah, everything’s placed up through 2009 or so. The document is at about 90 pages now (including annotations, obviously). Lately I’ve just been adding in random or unplaced titles that I missed along the way, so that I don’t have to do it after the whole thing has been posted. I’m missing a some books from 2010 that came out after I originally started making the timeline, but they should be relatively easy to place when I get around to it.

Stuff from 2006 onward needs some fact-checking though…I think simply going by publication dates won’t work for certain things (event books like Civil War, for example) since several trades all ending in the same month were often meant to be read in a specific order. I’ve started sifting through single-issue shipping lists to try and sort some of it out, but I’m not sure how much patience I’m going to have for that in the long run, haha. Anyway, my first priority right now is everything before 2006, and that should be posted soon.

But yeah, some of these trades you have listed came completely out of left field for me. I’m going through that site you linked to right now…it’s a great resource, even if it’s a little out of date.

Excellent! Are you willing to share your work again? That list you originally sent me was of immeasurable help in starting off this project. I’m starting to think I should link to your annotated list right in the header of the marvel list! In fact, I definitely will.

You’re right that we’ll probably have to do a lot of tweaking for modern events. I think I’ll try to get everything into general place and then worry about that – I’ve already got all the event tags in place so I can just go to each one and do a little research event by event.

Plus, site users should be able to help just by commenting! It’s worked a lot for the dc list.

Of course, I can definitely send it to you. I’m actually working on it at the moment, so I’ll just send it before I go to bed after I’ve gotten some more work done on it.

I appreciate the linkage! I think it will be helpful for people to go back and forth between the two lists, since we’ll probably end up organizing things a little differently in some respects. Heck, I’m sure I’ll use your list as much as I’ll use my own!

Oh, and a quick side note: I came across a trade yesterday called “Punisher Invades the ‘Nam,” which I didn’t see on your list. There are varying accounts of its contents, but it seems to collect a handful of Punisher appearances from The ‘Nam.

Thanks Marc! And I agree – I can’t really fit annotations on my list (nor do I really have the time for it), so it’s great to have that option.

I hadn’t heard of Punisher Invades – but I KNOW he had some appearances and it would make sense to collect em. I’ll look for it!

I can’t imagine doing this project without the internet. It’s just so damn supportive. :D

Yep, that’s the one! Funny how it slipped both our notices until now…makes you wonder what else could be out there!

I expect there will be a few more. I’m amazed that I’ve found so many since my initial public posting.

AT&T has been making great strides in service quality tying and in some cases outstripping their
rival. And, we have a winner in the “Which i – Phone 5C will sell out first” sweepstakes, which took place
on Friday, Sept. Almost all the gadgets launched
by the brand are amazing in features and incredible in looks.
