Quick question is this CANON? I know Whedon didn’t supervise the comics at this point and I don’t know if I should read this or not. Did After the Fall have a concrete ending or what?

It’s pretty hard to say, but not much important happens in this volume anyway. I haven’t read the next book yet so I’m not sure how it all comes together, but the last one felt pretty over – even if it set stuff up for a lot of craziness.

Yea I have read all of Buffy season 8 except for Last Gleaming because I want to read After the Fall before that and I heard about all the hub-bub about everything after After the Fall not being “canon”. I also need to finish watching Season 5 of Angel on Netflix but college has me falling behind on that lol

After The Fall is great. I think that it REALLY should be read before Season 8 if at all possible, and it’s sucked that they’re both coming out at the same time.

There’s gotta be some pretty drastic stuff BETWEEN them for it to really all flow together, and I don’t see that coming for a little while.

While the stories with angel and spike right now might not be canon, it’s possible they’re still worth reading.

Do not under any condition read any of After The Fall until you’ve finished all of the Angel TV series.

Yea thats why I have been waiting. I watched all of Buffy and angel concurrently all throughout the past year but I cannot for the life of me find Season 5 of Angel in any store. So to tide myself over I read Fray, which was amazing, and then I started on the Buffy comics and 7 volumes later I found Angel Season 5 on Netflix. That was like two weeks ago and I still have 11 eps to go. But hopefully I can finish over this Thanksgiving break and dive into After the Fall and Last Gleaming. =)

Oh and did you hear about Angel going to Dark Horse? I’m excited for that.

And should I be worried about CANON cause some people make it seem like a big deal?

I did hear about that, and am hoping it will refresh his comics. I haven’t read the willingham arc, but the last book I read (barbary coast) wasn’t too great.

Don’t worry too much about canon, just good and bad stories. Some of the out of canon stories in the Buffy Omnibi and Angel Omnibi are really fun. Some in canon episodes and arcs aren’t too great.

For the most part, anything with Joss’s name on it is good, but I’d just read everything and make your own decisions about what you feel is true, haha

Alright sounds good enough for me and thanks for your help. Oh and do you like Firefly as well? I am excited for Shepard Book’s tale or whatever they are calling it.

    No problem :)

I do, I really like firefly. I read the other comics but haven’t hit that one up yet. I’m sure I’ll get around to it at some point.
