Multiple side by side real time comparisons with iPhone 3GS logged in and my wife's iPod touch 4 not logged in, both off our wifi, had the "guest" speed an avg of 1 – 2 seconds faster throughout the website. Even with that however it seems to be running just fine :-)

haha thanks dude. That sounds about right. I wish it could be faster for those of us who use the site the most, but on the upside you get to see the most up to date content (the not logged in can be up to a day behind!)
I was wondering one other thing – right now the forum is caching too, but I feel like I should set it not to so people can see the most up to date conversation even before they log in.

Yeah that would make sense since I think a lot of us look at that sidebar to see updated posts of those threads not subscribed too. Is that possible to cache the main part, but keep that areas up to date?

If you're logged in, it will always show the most up to date information. If you're not logged in, the sidebar may be cached a little slow on each page depending on when it was generated. The sidebar on the home page never caches, though.
