Hey Gents,
I know we have a Funnybook Pic Thread, but there is some AMAZING comic art out there that I think we should share. Most all of the pics that I post are from rampagedreality, herochan, and deviant art…most of the time I forget where I originally saw them. Enjoy!

Fair enough, Chris! I'll contribute as I find anything noteworthy. If possible, though, I think we should post source links back to the artist pages/accounts. If you can't edit them in (let me know) I can edit them in to these ones for you :D

Sounds good. That's mainly why I tried to use the link post instead of uploading the image. I'll try to update the pics if I can hunt down the source. I have a folder of art that I've been collecting over the last couple of months so finding the source maybe a little difficult. Also if you don't like the thread or find it too resource heavy feel free to delete it.

You should still upload the image. Basically, the best net etiquette works like this:
1. Originally people prefered you just say "Here's a cool thing" and link it, without taking the image at all. But this doesn't work, so while technically the most polite, most people won't bother clicking through and the art doesn't get seen.
2. Second best is to upload the image yourself, but link back. This way, you're not stealing any of the website's original bandwidth. Not as big a deal with things like deviantart (and youtube is obviously designed to disseminate with embed codes), but personal artist sites can be brought down if too many other sites "hotlink" their content. A really popular site could pull down their server, without even sending them any real traffic!
3. Always link, that way the artist actually gains fans or recognition. Since they never get paid directly for all that internet love, it's the least we can do.
Since most people don't look at an image's source (and deviantart urls can be really convoluted) it's very hard for people to find more from the artist without a link back.
If you can't find the source, that's ok, just make a note that says "source unknown" and we'll edit it in if anyone lets us know! :D
Maybe we'll actually be able to find the artists to some of those favorite pictures of yours.

Goes to show how little I know about art. Thanks for the info. I always want to be respectful.

So it looks like I'm only able to edit my last post and not the original ones. Instead here is a list of sources to accompany the links.
1. No artist source given. Found on http://www.herochan.com and linked to http://mymonsterheartscreams.tumblr.com/ (does not appear to be creator, caution dance random music starts when you click page ala myspace)
2. Emma Frost – White Queen with Art by Adam Huges and sculped by Sideshow Collectibles
3. Why So Serious by Patrick Brown
4.Sickening Obsession by 7th Seal
Thanks again Ian for the education.

Thanks for the links! Patrick Brown's got some great stuff (I clicked through to see more GTA Jacking sketches and found them pretty funny.)

Yeah, it's nice to see the rest of the artist's collection to the pics that I posted. Some VERY neat stuff.
Here's one from Deadhead16mb titled Captain America

I always found Charcoal very frustrating. I like doing gestural stuff, but when it comes to fine detail I don't have the patience for reworking. Plus I hate getting covered with it. haha

He said it only took 5 hours. I don't know much about the process, but that seems pretty damn fast to me
To complement the Captain America one…
Leinil yu Wolverine Color 4Fun, Lines by Leinilyu and Color by MSpicer76. I love seeing Deviant Art Collaborations.

Last year I commissioned www.Heriocart.com to make me this painting of a Y the Last Man cover (issue #), it is 40 by 28 inches big!!! It is huge but the pride and joy of my walls, and I am likely to get more from them in the future as their whole range is so cool.

Speaking of paintings, Beth made this Batman last year. Also pretty big, pretty crazy.

She's painted like 5 swamp things in the past couple months, but maintains that none of them are finished so I haven't been able to snag them.
