They have new webisodes planned for Farscape that keep getting delayed, I hope they come to light soon as 4 series wasn't enough for that show

Yeah The Peacekeeper Wars was one of best "episodes" and it solved the cliffhanger ending of series 4. The comics follow on from the ending of Peacekeeper War quite nicely. I have to watch this again soon, I love "Harvey" a.k.a. Scorpius.

I admit to being skeptical of the comics cause tie ins are usually horrible (even though I've read all the buffy ones and like em a fair bit!)

Oh Simon…you said that Farscape was only 4 seasons…but now you're telling me that it was a cliff hanger and relies on other types of media to close the story…what are you getting me into?!?! ;-)

I was pretty happy with it without ever reading the comics, so I wouldn't worry too much. If you like it, you'll probably be happy to hunt them down.
It's no Star Trek, don't worry.

That's good to hear. I was afraid that if I enjoyed it that would automatically mean that I would then have to purchase each and every piece of media that is tied into the series. I'm still stuck in that never ending cycle with the Halo universe. Every game, book, graphic novel, comic, 7-11 cup, action figure…I think you get the point :P

Are the Halo comics any good? I have heard good things about them but they tend to be people who don't like comics and only got them cos they are Halo.
–> Cliffhanger is all sorted by feature length episode, which doesn't end on a cliffhanger so can avoid comics if you want.

Eh….if you're not a Halo addict I don't think I could really give it a strong recommendation, not bad, just nothing compared to what you guys are all ready reading. I agree that I would imagine most who do purchase it are Halo fans first and maybe comic fans. I enjoyed the art but the stories are pretty damn basic. The novels however are fantastic if you're into the lore.

Okay well I'll add them to my buy if I ever see very cheap pile, otherwise I'll avoid them. I've got too many novels to read as it is so I will avoid them too, but thanks for the honest opinions.

sounds kind of like the magic the gathering books, although a couple of them are quite good considering the age range they were targeted at (relatively mature, actually, for books based on a card game.)

Into the second season, and it seems much less "plot of the week" style now, heavy on contiuity. I dig it, though it's weird how the cast shifted around.

Would you recommend jumping in from what you've seen so far?

Not if you haven't seen those other shows we've talked about. You'd have to watch a mediocre first season to start liking it, and even then I'm not sure if it's because it's good or I've just grown into it.

Ok, I'll check out the others first.
I always hate recommending shows to people and saying "No, you'll love it, after you suffer through the first 3 shows" or "the first season is bad, but it gets better"
No one wants to do that :)

yeah, but sometimes I have to for buffy/angel. I think it's really hard to jump into that show unless you're a certain type of fan, but almost everyone seems to like it if they watch it straight through and bear with it through some silliness. It really was an amazing show.

That's what I keep hearing. Sadly no one gave me that preparation speech for Buffy and after season 1 I was done. Maybe I'll try to watch again later.
