Is there an announcement on the main page when new books are added to the reading orders (or an announcement anywhere).  I'm just asking as it doesn't seem like a whole lot has been added to the DC list in a while, and I was just wondering if it has happened and not announced or it hasn't happened because the Marvel list and adding cover images has been taking a lot of time (and rightfully so).

 

I was wondering as I use the lists for off-line use for my own personal reading orders (the order I want to read books).

Hi Raven, welcome to the 'members area'.

To answer your question there hasn't been any activity on the DC side of this site since the Marvel work got started, which is still going through it's final touches. The big boss himself, Ian, has said that he is going to be looking at the DC stuff sometime soon. 

Are there any particular books you have seen and wish to be looked at first? We might be able to help you out right now, rather than waiting for the next DC update if you're lucky.

Currently?  Not really.

 

I was more worried that there was work going on and I was uninformed.  I totally get that the Marvel list is/was a very labor intensive effort, and was not suprised that updates to the DC side would slow down when that occured. 

 

I was just asking more out of paranoia's sake than anything else.

haha, no worries. I'll make sure to post an update at the blog about any placements or changes to any of the existing lists. We'd been doing so much at once that I had kind of let that drop (since the update posts would be hundreds of books long) but now that we're tweaking details, I'll try to get in daily blog summations of what we're working on.

I'm curious about criteria for book ordering.  Especially in trade vs. HC collections for Marvel (the oversize HCs that collect two trades worth of material).  Is the earliest issue the book collects generally the foundation of determining its order, or the last?  Or is it a mix?  I'm just wondering about how this wonderful site works. :)

I think I set it mostly by last. It's not a perfect system and we'll probably have to do some shifting by actual events.
