Hooboy! Everything is finally fixed, after a few hour push there. Those last few pages of posts were the worst, my eyes are pretty much shutting on their own on this point.
So I’m gonna go take a nap, but let me know if you see any blank pages or weird double displaying pages (loading once, and then right again on top of each other). These should all be fixed, but it’s possible that some thing like that would come up if a book or post is accidentally in the blog AND comics category or if it’s not in either category.
Pretty sure they’re all set, though. I also made sure each blog post is only in one sub-category, like “Updates” or “Essays.”
In order to add in more custom layouts (instead of just two) I had to switch the comic book collected edition layout to display for items in the category “Comics” – meaning that any book which are not yet categorized into that major category instead of just their sub categories are not displaying – in fact, the whole page for those books is not displaying!
I’m going as fast as I can through all of them, but I can only do 20 at a time, and the poor shared server has a tendency to crash/run out of memory when doing that.. so it takes a bit to get through. I’ve got everything but DC done so far, and about 1600 books to go.
Stay tuned for update!
(random note – I was getting myself through this tedium by telling myself that I was biding the time while an ebay auction counted down, and then while writing this little update post I missed it, after waiting 4 hours. I was outbid, but could have bid myself up 50 cents more and gotten in. rargh! Frustrating night/morning.)
Update: 900 fixed so far (9:30 am)
FIXED 10:29 AM
So I decided to tweak the essay category layout a bit, since they seem like they’ll be getting more long term traffic and they should look nice and pretty and less like blog posts. Basically, I minimized the text header since each one will have a graphic title.
Then I added this little graphic title for the little Why I Love The DC Universe essay (Just realized that was a funny little acronym.)

I’m not totally sure about the sub/pre title, but it felt like it needed something up there (and that’s what I was calling it when I posted it over at my personal blog.)
I’m only half awake, so I’m not gonna do it right now, but my plan is to rework a couple of the paragraphs in the Crisis for Infinite Nerds piece, cause they’re a little misleading or awkward when it comes to bronze age chronology and the influence/order of miniseries development.
