Added Showcase Presents: Dial H For Hero and Crisis on Multiple Earths Vol. 5 to the timeline! Since they are both new releases, their tag information might take a little longer than the rest of the timeline (at least until I can get down to my local barnes & noble and take a look at em.) Any modern new releases will take a little longer, if they aren’t already added (like Superman: The Coming of Atlas which was previously released in hardcover, I think). Sometimes I can add things before they come out, but for the older stuff where it’s harder to find info online, I tend to wanna see it in person or wait until it’s actually released (especially that volume 5 of multiple earths, I feel like we’ve been waiting for that one forever. Very excited to pick it up).

Got the header working with an image and description. It’s not fully conditional (so the header is always big enough to fit all the info), but it’s workable.

The thing I was worrying about was that if I didn’t have a picture/description for the term, the header would look like crap. However, the way I’ve done it it seems to hold up pretty well, if a tiny bit tall.

Check out the Alfred Pennyworth page again. Then see how it looks on Mary Marvel, who I obviously haven’t added any info for.

Not perfect, but not terrible. I’m going to look into adding an image placeholder for the tag sorts that have no picture, I think it would solve a little of the layout weirdness.

I also have to add the formatting to the other tags/taxonomies/categories. It only really works for “character” right now.

Placeholder images for the section headers work in firefox but not in Internet Explorer. List and Character “slug” calls are set and work correctly – “series” and “creator” are not really perfect yet, since I haven’t gotten it to call the custom taxonomy slugs correctly.

While I was biking home from work today I started formulating a way to include a character (or creator, etc) bio with picture at the top of the page, in their header.

I could probably use the tag slug itself to call up a jpg with the same name. The trick would be doing it conditionally so it only makes the formatting room for the bio if there is a description (otherwise it would be too much unused space for those minor character that only get a little text header… at least until I give everyone a bio or something.. which would be a long way off.)

I’ll keep thinking about it.

Decided to take a break from big crossovers after finishing all the way to Infinite Crisis Aftermath. Went back and tweaked and tagged starting at the top again (I’ve gotten a little better at it) and now all the books down through Batman: Year Two are tagged (you should notice a lot more Alfred Pennyworth books listed in the tags now, haha).

Then I spent some time making it so a small header appears if you are looking at a book list for a certain Character, Creator, List, or Series. For example, Denny O’Neil or the Silver Age. Figured it would make browsing by tags a little more user friendly.
