Ok, picky point, but at least a little relevant *grin*

Like “The Insiders” This is actually a Teen Titans/Outsiders book

    true nuff.

There are actually a lot of books in the database with slightly off titling right now. Mainly a side effect of them being culled from my personal collection list. I wasn’t always so careful about that as I am now.

I should be correcting them while going down the list and adding covers and other info.

Side note – I’m done messing with the formatting and text on the [more info] links. Any thoughts?

The More Info links look good to me.

Also, please don’t read my notes about things like the title on this one as “I demand you fix this now.” *grin* I just comment on these things when I see them, as I figure it will be easier for them to get fixed at some point down the road that way.

haha don’t worry, I don’t feel put upon. It’s usually easier for me to fix it right when I see your note than to wait until later. Sometimes I see your comments in my email but I wait until I’ve got a minute to fix something, and then I respond after I’ve gotten to it.

Either way, I’m super thankful that you’ve kept it up.

I think, in general, the comments about placement and event tagging are most useful, because unless there is a cover and it seems like the tags are fully populated, the book could kind of be considered as a placeholder – it means I haven’t yet gotten to it in cleaning up the info and tagging everything.

However, placements and crossovers/events – that I’ll ALWAYS need help with.

I just don’t want you to waste your time worrying about character tags, etc, for stuff I haven’t gotten to yet. That’s time you could spend reading! :D

Just out of curiosity…you said you had an easy way to get the character tags…where are those coming from?

Ian replied on June 3rd, 2010 at 12:40 am:

I actually type them in, but I usually do it while checking the book at CBDB (I might feel a little bad if I didn’t link them on every book or if it wasn’t public knowledge farmed by their users.) I don’t do a database grab or even a copy paste, because I disagree with a LOT of their tagging, and a lot of how they tag the characters.

If I’ve read the book, I’m checking it against my memory, and when I’m doing book updates I also like to have the book in front of me if at all possible. A lot of times I’ll tag stuff they don’t or I’ll leave out a lot of their useless tags, like one appearance characters.

Tomorrow’s new comic day. I better start the mantra now: “Only buy the two new books you need, don’t browse the shop for others just cause you’re there.”

Every day is Ebay Saved Search day.

alright, I’m gonna go rest my eyes for a bit but I’ll probably be back in a little to move some more books in to the reading order.

Haha. Ok, mantra failure. Despite my bet intentions to walk into the shop and only pick up the 2 books out today I wanted, I seem to be genetically incapable of leaving a comic shop without spending at least $100. lol

hah, what did you get? I’m on forced hiatus until my next paycheck but I’ve still got a few coming in the mail:

Viking Glory: The Viking Prince, Jonah Hex: Two Gun Mojo, Batman: Chronicles Vol. 3-9, DC Comics Classics Library: Batman: The Annuals Vol. 1, Supergirl: Showcase Presents: Supergirl Vol. 1, Batman: Showcase Presents: Batman Vol. 2

Daniel Davis replied on June 3rd, 2010 at 9:30 pm:

Yeah, I’ve got to do the same thing now (hiatus.)

The books I intended to get were Superman: New Krypton v.4 and Justice League: Cry for Justice. But I ended up picking up Batman: City of Crime, Wonder Woman: Land of the Dead and Bitter Rivals, and the first Fables Deluxe hardcover.

    Oh, duh. local comic shop.

Yeah, I do. It’s a really great shop with friendly staff. I try to just buy day one releases there and buy my older titles online…but like I say, my impulse control in that kind of place needs some work. *grin*

haha fair enough. It’s a good thing there aren’t really any good local shops here or I’d be in more trouble than I already am.

Then again, if there were I wouldn’t have gotten into this mess, probably – I’m much more likely to spend money when I’m not holding it in my hand.

    Hi Ian,
Looks like a lot of discussion above about this trade already. I was wondering, is it normal for this to not show up under the Donna Troy character tag? I haven’t read it, but interested in her story.
