Up Down

Ok guys, we’re on WordPress 3.0! It went smoother than I expected, but seems to have resulted in a pretty big speed drop so far. It’s hard to tell exactly how much on my end, since I’m currently on a crippled computer as well.

Still, I know there is a lot of optimization that needs to be done again – little tweaks and some big things like Caching have to be set up.

I’ve added in a top navigation menu using the new custom menu feature in 3.0, so that should serve as a little perk until everything else catches up.

I gotta crash for the night, but I’ll be trying to make things run smoother whenever I have a chance.

Let me know if you run into anything weird!

Really? Weird.. I’m actually surprised at how smoothly it seems to have gone for my blog, considering the ridiculous amount of plugins and hacks I have running (about 45 plugins!)

I’m planning on trimming them down as I integrate stuff into my custom theme and functions, but still.. amazing that it didn’t just crash.

Did you make sure you were on cutting edge releases and not point releases or whatever?

Thanks for the reply… I finally got it but it wasn’t as easy as just hitting that cool upgrade button! hahaah It is NEVER that easy for me.
I tried disabling the theme and plugins, but that didn’t work either… So I just did a manual update, and all went well…

Thank you for the reply! Have a great weekend!

haha Good to hear it’s working for you!

I think the thing I’m using most (I haven’t really gotten into custom post types yet) right now is the menu feature. It’s pretty sweet, up there.
