I should probably make sure that this book and Spider-Man: Breakout are closer.

The sequence of events is that a bunch of supervillains break out of prison in New Avengers, and at the end of the story there are still a bunch on the loose. Spider-Man: Breakout sees the last of them rounded up and thrown back in jail. I should probably reread to see whether the New Avengers have formed in the Spider-Man miniseries; if not, Breakout takes place DURING the New Avengers trade, rather than after.

An amazon review seemed to indicate they’d formed but hadn’t really got their act together yet.

They don’t really get their act together until like the end of the third trade, if I remember correctly. That’s when the press conference announcing the team’s membership happens, I think. It’s messed up though because House of M seems to happen sometime before or during the third trade, but HoM also relies on the New Avengers status quo being what it is at the END of the third trade.

Maybe it’s not as confusing in trade (and again, maybe I’m remembering this incorrectly since it’s been about five or six years), but when I read it in singles it seemed like one big cluster****.
