Got the information pages into the sidebar with the help of the executable php widget. I was able to create a loop that recognized “more” from the posts so I trimmed down the text visible in the sidebar (thought it was a bit much.) You’ll only see the most recent update there now, for example, unless you click on the link for more information. Now that the pages are automatically porting, a link formatting issue that was bugging me is solved as well. Everything should look a little nicer!
Finally figured out the problem with the white background for the content! Thanks to the wordpress.org support forums, who helped me find that adding a little footer with a “clear: both;” tag in its style would fix the issue. Worked like a charm. Now I can actually start thinking about what I want the background image to be. I suppose the temp image is fine for now, though it is a little busy. I tried a few other options but none of them looked right. I’ll focus on the sidebar/page thing first and then adding more covers, as always.
Worked the sidebar information into pages (since it’s a lot of stuff!) and added links to those pages in the first sidebar. Looking to actually have the sidebar call the pages to get the content, so I can just edit it in one place instead of pasting it into widgets like it is now – kinda wonky.
We’re kinda done tweaking it for now, though neither of us can figure out why the whole content wrap isn’t working (which is why the background comes in below the columns on the right. Very weird!)
Added a temporary background image (Action Comics No. 1!) and tweaked borders (for the sides) and padding for the content.
My roommate and I are working on prettying up some of my code, as well as adding in the background image. Tony, as a professional web designer, has been my guardian angel during the creation of this website. Pardon if it’s hard to read for a little bit while we figure out some of my messy div tags.
