I did a handful of updates for the Wonder Woman Reading Order. There are still a couple books left to add thumbnails to, but it’s now one of the most complete lists on the site. I also added a header image.

Like any other character, more books will end up on that list as I go through and tag em (I’m sure a lot of JLA titles, etc.)

The following books have been updated in the database:

Secret Origins (Of The World’s Greatest Super-Heroes) – Name change to match how it is commonly referred to, since there are a LOT of “Secret Origin”-ish trades.

Swamp Thing: Dark Genesis – Moved to match new placement before DCCCL: Roots Of The Swamp Thing

Showcase Presents: Robin – The Boy Wonder – Title change to match full cover title

Superman: Adventures of Nightwing and Flamebird – Name change. For some reason I had Nightwing and Flamebird flipped. Probably because I’m stupid.

The Greatest Team-Up Stories Ever Told – Fixed title typo

Supergirl (Get a Life) – I don’t think the subtitle is on the cover, but this is how this volume is usually talked about.

Superman: New Krypton Vol. 3 – Added issues and publication dates

Justice League of America: When Worlds Collide – Added issues and publication dates

Justice Society of America: Black Adam and Isis – Fixed title, added issues and publication dates

Blackest Night: Tales of The Corps – Corrected placement

Blackest Night: Green Lantern – Corrected placement

Blackest Night: Green Lantern Corps – Corrected placement

Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Vol. 1 – Corrected placement

Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Vol. 2 – Corrected placement

Blackest Night: Rise Of The Black Lanterns – Corrected placement

This batch brings the Blackest Night reading order in line.

At this point, the reading order should be almost up to date, except for a couple major exceptions – DC Animated and the DC Archives, plus about 5 books that I need to read or hear specifics about before placing. All that can still be found on the Unplaced listing.

Also, Daniel, as the gentleman and scholar that he is, noted that Batman: City of Crime needed to be moved before War Games, so it’s been tentatively placed before War Drums for now. We’ll probably have to find a more exact position for it later.

Here’s the next set of book placements on the Reading Order:

Sandman Mystery Theatre: Sleep of Reason

Warlord: The Saga

Warlord: The Forgotten

Azrael: Death’s Dark Knight

Azrael: Angel in the Dark

Gotham City Sirens Vol. 2: Songs of the Sirens

Batman: Streets Of Gotham Vol. 2: Leviathan

Batman And Robin: Vol. 2: Batman Vs. Robin

R.E.B.E.L.S Vol. 2: Strange Companions

Power Girl Vol. 2: Aliens and Apes

Wednesday Comics

The Question: Peacemaker

Team-Ups Of The Brave And The Bold

Batman: Unseen

Magog: Lethal Force

The Web Vol. 1: Spinning The Future

Legion Of Super-Heroes: 1,050 Years Of The Future

Green Arrow / Black Canary: For Better Or Worse

Hellboy: Masks and Monsters

Superman: War of the Supermen

As usual, any book that is a very recent release or an upcoming release is quite tentatively placed. Almost all of these have just been placed by release date of their included contents, although some have been shifted somewhat due to known crossovers. If you’ve got any advice about the tail end of the order, feel free to drop a comment!

By the way, how intense is that Streets of Gotham Cover? What the hell is going on in the current Bat titles?

Wait, that was a rhetorical question – don’t tell me. I’ll get there on my own ;)

By taking the styling out of the plugin code for the wp-pagenavi and putting it in my theme where it is called, I’m able to call it in different places in the page and style it differently.

I realized that I needed to do this when I was browsing the RRO and got to the end, and instinctively looked for a next link right near the content. It wasn’t there, of course, because I had moved it to the navbar.

I love the navbar when I’m consciously using it, but I don’t think ever user will know to look for it right away, and also sometimes you just want the navigation right on top.

So this is one of the few places on the site where I think it’s a really really good idea to be redundant. I styled the inline iterations of the navigation extremely lightly and put them back in – so you should see them on the top and bottom of the page content again.
