I’ve heard this is an interesting story. Never had the chance to read it.

I enjoyed it. I think I should try and give it a review soon. Either way, we will eventually ;)

Sweet pick! I’ve been wanting to read that one for forever!

  6. Dirt55 wrote on at January 10, 2011 10:58 pm:

Funny, I just read all about DC’s structuring of Luthor in the universe yesterday. The whole who’s better, the classic “Mad Scientist” Luthor or the 1980’s “Business Man” Luthor. I’m all about the Mad Scientist one because as it was pointed out, some have concern that the Business Luthor is too close to Kingpin from Marvel. Then again the Mad Scientist Luthor from the Superman Returns movie did NOT do it for me.

Ian replied on January 10th, 2011 at 11:00 pm:

I grew up on the post Man Of Steel – Death & Return superman, so the businessman will always be the type I think about when I think Luthor. For a while, it was more familiar to me to see him with long red hair than thin and bald.

    Dirt55 replied on January 11th, 2011 at 1:58 am:

Yeah that’s where I started as well, but I think the random cartoons and Richard Donner films just had it ingrained that the man must be bald. He must! :-)

haha, i’ve never heard of this. it sounds awesome.

  8. JellyMuffins wrote on at January 11, 2011 7:52 am:

I’ve always been curious as to how he became president. How does one stand on the platform of ‘I know I tried to kill Superman and take over the world countless times but… Vote 1 for me anyway!’

Ian replied on January 11th, 2011 at 12:41 pm:

hahah, I don’t think this book will shed much light on that particular development, but it will fill in a little backstory.

  9. jonah_X wrote on at January 11, 2011 8:04 am:

Lex Luthor? Awesome. Never read something about him (except a few “LexCorp” references in various other comics), and I think this particular book would be really interesting to read. I mean, look at the cover … somehow he reminds me of Oswald Cobblepot :D

    So count me in!

  10. jdemacek wrote on at January 11, 2011 11:00 am:

Very cool! Count me in as well.

  11. hellboy wrote on at January 11, 2011 3:28 pm:

lol, I agree with Dirt55, the front cover really reminds me of Kingpin!

  12. henraldo wrote on at January 12, 2011 2:34 pm:

ah the number one main character in the entire DC universe. he has been in just about every comic series since for ever. he isnt just a superman villain, he is just a villain.

Sounds like a cool book and a great idea for a giveaway! Thanks again for doing this and for the great site!

  15. S4VY wrote on at January 14, 2011 1:15 am:

Didn’t even know this book existed. Luthor is a sick villian – brilliant and ruthless – you can’t really ask for more; I’m pumped to check it out.

  16. Rellimsam wrote on at January 14, 2011 6:27 pm:

I always love some background on Lex Luthor.

  17. -B. wrote on at January 14, 2011 8:20 pm:

Is it me, or is the Lex on the cover of this book a tad more heavy set than usual? Either way is fine with me, but I got so used to the Lex Luthor from the Justice League cartoons that this depiction seems a bit off. This would certainly be an interesting read. Good luck, everyone!

Ian replied on January 15th, 2011 at 12:39 am:

This is how he looked post Man Of Steel era reboot. This book is 100% in continuity and reflects him just as he was in the titles of the time. He eventually ended up thin again, after a brief stint with long red hair and a beard.

First off I want to say great blog! I had a quick question which
I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find
out how you center yourself and clear your
thoughts before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
are usually lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
    Many thanks!
